I have done this hike many times before and now a few days before my 77th birthday it was on the calendar again.
We went up the mountain to the right, past the exploration adit and over the shoulder with a short excursion up to the view point and down to the last house. The picture was taken from the back of the mine adit and, I think, a rather pleasing image.
We followed the gold road past Sheba's Bath and had lunch at the beginning of the Red Donga. Nobody felt like visiting the mines a few meters up the valley.
We lost the path at one point and had to bundu bash to make our way back to the road. The team was not very pleased with me leading them through the jungle. But eventually we were back on the path and the road on our way down to the starting point.
